Today, Deadline announced that Disney has canceled the sequel series to the 1988 classic Willow after a single season. While the show had an extremely large budget and often fun younger cast. It simply didn’t resonate with audiences like the original cult classic did in the 80s. The series, however, did get positive reviews during its original run late last year, with 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. Another possible series that won’t get renewed at the streaming service is National Treasure, as it had even less marketing push than Willow did around the same time. Though a third film is in the works with Nicholas Cage returning. Jon Kasdan (Solo, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny) was the executive producer and showrunner of Willow.
