Jenna Ortega Is Next To Circle ‘Beetlejuice 2’ After Sadie Sink Passes

Several weeks ago, we at Knight Edge Media revealed that Stranger Things and The Whale star Sadie Sink had begun talks to star alongside Wyonna Rider in Beetlejuice 2. As of last week, we learned talks fell through with Sadie and director Tim Burton shifted gears to hire his Wednesday star Jenna Ortega in the role.

Today, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Ortega has indeed entered talks to play Rider’s daughter. Wednesday Addams and Lydia Deetz have always been associated with dark goth sarcasm, so it makes sense for the same director to pursue Ortega. Michael Keaton will return in the title role as he meets Lydia’s other children. Production will begin later this year.
