Today, Slashfilm confirmed a recent rumor that Harrison Ford has been recast as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The role was originally played by actor William Hurt starting in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, but the actor passed away earlier this year.

Thunderbolt Ross is expected to make his first reappearance in Captain America: New World Order due to a Hulk-level threat from the return of The Leader (played once again by Tim Blake Nelson). He is also expected to appear in the Thunderbolts antihero film, possibly as Red Hulk.

Captain America: New World Order hits theaters May 3rd, 2024
