Today, The Direct announced that actress Milan Ray has joined the very small cast of Blade for Marvel Studios. The young actress is best known for her role in The Wonder Years reboot series. While her role isn’t revealed it’s expected to be significant.

We at Knight Edge Media heard a year ago that Blade was looking for a young African-American actress in a substantial role. The casting role was named Ruby and described as “Thoughtful, serious, and burdened by growing up in a complex world.” We speculated that this role could be for the comics character Fallon Grey, daughter of Blade. However, it’s unknown what her exact role is at this point. She joins Mahershala Ali, Aaron Pierre, and Delroy Lindo. Bassam Tariq will direct the film with a screenplay by Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Production begins this August in Atlanta.
