Robert Downey Jr. Set To Produce Two ‘Sherlock Holmes’ Spin-Off Shows For HBO Max

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that actor Robert Downey Jr. will produce two Sherlock Holmes spin-off shows for HBO Max through his Team Downey production banner. Downey starred in the title role in 2009 and 2011 from director Guy Ritchie. A third film was in the works with his co-star Jude Law as Watson but has since pivoted towards a streaming show. It’s unknown if he will return as Sherlock or if the shows occur in the same universe. Co-writer Lionel Wigram will produce the series as well.
