Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù Enters Talks To Star As ‘John Constantine’ For HBO Max

Today, our friends over at The Illuminerdi have revealed that actor Sope Dirisu has entered talks to star as John Constantine for the upcoming HBO Max series. Sope Dirisu is best known for his role in Gangs of London in 2020 but has also been mentioned as a replacement for James Bond in the past. This report confirms our story in 2021 that the character of John Constantine will be race-swapped from his typical caucasian version. We at Knight Edge Media also revealed last week that a casting call for Astra had gone out for the upcoming series.

The character has made a reemergence in the last decade after Matt Ryan took over playing the character in live-action shows and animated DC feature films. JJ Abrams is set to produce the new project under his Bad Robot production banner. Production begins this fall in London & Morocco and runs through February 2023.

Constantine will stream exclusively on HBO Max
