Ariana DeBose Joins Sony Pictures ‘Kraven the Hunter’ as Calypso

Today, Deadline announced that actress Ariana DeBose has joined the cast of Sony Pictures Kraven the Hunter. Ariana DeBose is best known for her breakout role in last year’s West Side Story which garnered her an Oscar nomination. She will play the Marvel characters version of Calypso. Last year we had heard Jodie Smith-Turner was in the running for the role but never was offered. She joins Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Fred Hechinger as Kraven and Chameleon. J.C. Chandor will direct the film which starts production soon. The film will be set within the Sony-Marvel universe alongside Venom, Morbius, and Madame Web.
