Disney+ Moving Forward With a ‘Reel Steel’ TV Series

Today, Variety announced that a Reel Steel series was in early development for the Disney+ streaming service. The original film starring Hugh Jackman was released in 2011 with director Shawn Levy. The film followed a retired boxer that in the future is able to remotely control a robot in a boxing ring. Levy returns to executive produce under his 21 Laps production banner. Not much is known on the project or if Jackman will return. However, it will be yet another live-action project skewered to a younger audience like The Mighty Ducks and the upcoming Percy Jackson.
