The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell had boarded The Wolfman last year but recently left the project due to a scheduling conflict. Ryan Gosling was tapped to star late last year and was a big proponent of Derek Cianfrance taking over. The two worked together on The Place Beyond the Pines.
