Recently, Deadline announced that director Derek Cianfrance will now write & helm The Wolfman for Universal Pictures. The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell had boarded The Wolfman last year but recently left the project due to a scheduling conflict. Ryan Gosling was tapped to star late last year and was a big proponent of Derek Cianfrance taking over. The two worked together on The Place Beyond the Pines. This film will be a modern take on the classic monster character as opposed to Benicio del Toro’s period piece in 2010. Gosling, Ken Kao, and Jason Blum will produce the project for Blumhouse.
