Today, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that directing duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will helm Batgirl for DC Comics and Warner Brothers. The Moroccan Co-directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are best known for directing last year’s Bad Boys For Life after it sat in development hell. They have since gone on direct several episodes of Marvel Studio’s upcoming Ms. Marvel Disney+ Series. They will now take over directing duties from Joss Whedon who dropped out of the project in 2018.

Birds of Prey, Bumblebee, and The Flash screenwriter Christina Hodson has written the latest draft of Batgirl for the studio. Michael Keaton from 1989’s Batman was once rumored to appear in Batgirl after his re-introduction in The Flash as older Bruce Wayne. It’s unknown if the actor will return for this version of the script.
