Vin Diesel Will Star in ‘Rock Em Sock Em Robots’ Live-Action Movie For Universal Pictures

Today, Variety announced that Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel is set to star in a live-action adaptation of Rock Em’ Sock Em’ Robots. The classic toy now is made into a full-length feature film by Universal Pictures and Mattel Toys. Diesel adds “To take the classic Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em game, with Mattel as my partner, and align it with the kind of world-building, franchise-making success we have had with Universal, is truly exciting,” The film will be produced by Vin Diesel’s production company One Race Films. The idea of life-sized robots boxing each other however was already used in 2011’s Reel Steel starring Hugh Jackman.
