Laurence O’Fuarain Will Star in Netflix’s ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ Mini-Series

Laurence OFuarain The Witcher Banner1

Earlier today Deadline announced that Vikings and Game of Thrones star Laurence O’Fuarain has been cast as the lead in The Witcher: Blood Origin. The upcoming Witcher prequel will follow the footsteps of Fjall of one of the first Witchers ever.

Born into a clan of warriors sworn to protect a King, Fjall carries a deep scar within, the death of a loved one who fell in battle trying to save him. A scar that won’t let him settle, or make peace with himself or the world around him. In his quest for redemption, Fjall will find himself fighting beside the most unlikely of allies as he carves a path of vengeance across a continent in turmoil.

Jodie Turner-Smith will play the female lead Éile, an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess. The streaming service was first looking at Jason Momoa for the role late last year. Declan de Barra will act as showrunner on the 6-part mini-series.

The Witcher: Blood Origin will stream exclusively on Netflix
