Benedict Cumberbatch Returns as ‘Doctor Strange’ in Marvel Studios ‘Spider-Man 3’

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Benedict Cumberbatch would join the cast of Spider-Man 3. He will return as the “Sorcerer Supreme” Doctor Stephen Strange in the upcoming sequel. Cumberbatch is set to be Peter Parker’s new mentor in the film after Tony Stark and Nick Fury in the two previous installments. This comes off recent news that Jamie Foxx will return as Electro after appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opposite Andrew Garfield.

Cumberbatch will film his scenes for Spider-Man 3 first, before moving on to star in his own sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Production begins next week in Queens, New York. Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker. Alongside, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson. With Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Kevin Feige is set to produce the sequel alongside Amy Pascal.
