RUMOR: Hayden Christensen Set To Return in the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ TV Series; Darth Vader Will Also Appear

This week two separate reports came out regarding the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series in development. Over at LRMOnline, they report that actor Hayden Christensen has entered talks to return to the Star Wars universe in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The report mentions that Christensen would be returning as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming series. However, chronologically Anakin has since turned into Darth Vader by the time Obi-Wan has gone into hiding on Tatooine.

A good fan theory is that it would feature flashbacks (hopefully live-action) of Anakin and Obi-Wan throughout their adventures in The Clone Wars. Which, of course, would lead to more grief Obi-Wan must endure alone. However, the report states that this is a recurring role, not just a cameo-like flashback. Anakin could be in Obi-Wan’s mind while he is in seclusion, speaking to only him. As a way for Obi-Wan to deal with his isolation.

Another report from our friend Daniel Ritchman on his Patreon reveals that Darth Vader will also be appearing in the show. As we know, Darth Vader never learns that Obi-Wan and his son Luke are hiding out on Tatonnie. With Obi-Wan not confronting Vader until A New Hope. This role could also be filled by Christensen as well like he did in Revenge of the Sith (above). Vader could dispatch assassins throughout the galaxy to hunt down Obi-Wan, which sounds more of a cameo appearance for Darth Vader but not Anakin Skywalker.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will stream exclusively on Disney+
