Several months ago we had learned that Ryan Gosling was going to star in an upcoming untitled Universal Pictures monster film. It was unknown at the time which film the actor would appear in as the studio has been trying to get many films off the ground. This all comes off several false starts from Dracula Untold and The Mummy. But the studio was able to make some lead-way when they teamed up with horror studio Blumhouse to create this year’s The Invisible Man.

Now it’s been revealed Ryan Gosling is going to adapt The Wolfman for the studio. The studio now is looking at a list of directors for the film. While none have signed on Bad Education’s Cory Finley is at the top of their wishlist. It’s unknown where this film will take place, but it may end up being in the same vein as Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nightcrawler.
