Today, Variety is reporting that Thor: Ragnarok and Lord of the Rings alum Cate Blanchett is in talks to join Lionsgate Borderlands feature film. If a deal is struck Blanchett is expected to play Lilith from the popular video game. Horror director Eli Roth is already set to helm the project. With Avi Arad producing the film alongside Erik Feig. Chernybol showrunner Craig Mazin has written the latest draft of the screenplay.
The game is set on the frontier of a sci-fi universe — the planet of Pandora — which has been abandoned by a mega-corporation prior to the game events.
