News on Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series has been scarce, to say the least. Since it’s initial announcement in September 2018 not much has been revealed about the upcoming project.  It was however revealed that the original animated series creators Bryan Konietzko and Mike DiMartino would be returning to write & showrun the live-action series. it was also revealed that Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra composer Jeremy Zuckerman will also return for the upcoming live-action series. The complete radio silence from all involved…

In October, we heard from Toph voice actress Jessie Flower that they want production on the show to start in early 2020 and will cast culturally appropriate for each role and nation. It’s unknown at this point if they will indeed start filming in the coming months as it still could be pushed back. We at Knight Edge Media heard the same with casting for Aang to be between 12-14 and ethnically Asain. Now over the weekend, it was revealed that showrunner Bryan Konietzko (longtime guitarist) and composer Jeremy Zuckerman met in Anaheim, CA to attend NAMM 2020; a custom guitarist convention together. It seems the two a well as co-showrunner Mike DiMartino are still very much working together on the live-action series despite the radio silence from all three. Hopefully, we get some casting announcements very soon…
