Director Jonás Cuaron Set To Helm Sony’s ‘El Muerto’ From Scribe Gareth Dunnet Alcocer

Today, The Wrap announced that director Jonás Cuaron will helm Sony Pictures upcoming Spider-Man spin-off film El Muerto. The film was originally announced back at CinemaCon by actor and singer Bad Bunny. The announcement also revealed that Blue Beetle scribe Gareth Dunnet Alcocer will pen the spin-off. The film will still be a part of Sony’s own Marvel universe that includes Venom, Morbius, Madame Web, and Kraven the Hunter. Production will commence sometime in 2023.

El Muerto hits theaters January 12th, 2024
