Earlier this year HBO Max announced The Batman spin-off series featuring the GCPD. They also revealed that another spin-off series was in the works for The Penguin. While it was confirmed at the time it was assumed that Colin Farrell would board the spin-off project. Now, Variety has announced that Farrell will indeed star in the series as well as produce. Farrell was unrecognizable as Oswald Cobblepot when the original trailer debuted in 2020. Director Matt Reeves is looking to build out an entire cinematic universe around his Batman film starring Robert Pattinson. Lauren LeFranc is set to write the project for the streaming service.
