Netflix Nabs Distribution Rights To Hasbro’s ‘Power Rangers’ Reboot

Several months ago, we learned that eOne was in negotiations with Hasbro to acquire the rights to several of their smaller board games adaptions like Dungeons & Dragons, Risk, Clue, and Monopoly. eOne also looked to reboot Power Rangers once again after the failed (yet critically praised) 2017 film. Jonathan Entwistle was brought onto direct a rebooted film in 2019.

Now Deadline has announced that Netflix will be distributing the upcoming film for Hasbro and eOne. The streaming service is looking to create an entire cinematic universe around the characters. “Since we set up Power Rangers with Jonathan, we pitched really a whole-world approach. It’s not just one show, it is shows followed by films, some kids’ programming. We have found a great writing partner for him, they are off. Knock on wood, Netflix is excited, we’re excited, we hope to have some news soon.” says eOne’s Michael Lombardo.
