Director Jon M. Chu Will Helm Disney’s ‘Lilo & Sitch’ Live-Action Film

Recently, Variety revealed that director Jon M. Chu has joined Disney’s upcoming Lilo & Stitch. The film will be a live-action adaption of the classic animated film of a little Hawaiian girl alongside her sister who befriends an alien fugitive as her pet. Jon M. Chu recently got praise for his film Crazy Rich Asians. As well as directing G.I. Joe: Retaliation in 2013 alongside Dwayne Johnson.

Lilo & Sitch currently has no screenwriter attached nor any cast members at this time. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich of Rideback Productions will produce the project. It’s unknown if the film will be released on Disney+ or theatrically.
