A search for the next James Bond has been long and tedious over at Amazon MGM Studios. The studio has been looking for over a year for the next 007 to take up the mantle after Daniel Craig finished playing the character in 2021’s No Time to Die. Now, as the studio looks to cast a relatively younger actor to play the character for the next decade, they are finally down to three actors. Interestingly, singer Harry Styles (Don’t Worry Darling) was once on a shortlist, but it never went anywhere. A report from Page Six reveals Jack Barton (Poor Things), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Paul Mescal (Gladiator II), Jack Lowden (Dunkirk), and Harris Dickinson (1917) were also on the shortlist at one point.
We at Knight Edge Media have exclusively learned that Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts, Neuromancer) and Jack O’Connell (Sinners, 28 Years Later) are two of the three actors still in the running for the role. We have also learned there is a third dark-horse candidate who is currently unknown, and we couldn’t verify who it would be from the previous shortlist. The studio did narrow it down to the final three actors as of last week. A small heads up: Jack Barton is the youngest and least known of the entire list and could have an edge as the unknown dark horse, but that’s pure speculation. Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Blade Runner 2049) is set to direct it after he finishes work on Dune: Part Three. Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) wrote the screenplay, and Amy Pascal (Spider-Man) & David Heyman (Harry Potter) will produce it. It won’t be too long before the studio officially announces our next James Bond.
