Today, we at Knight Edge Media have exclusively learned that Netflix has nabbed upcoming actress Angela Najjar for the second season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Najjar hasn’t appeared in any major productions but has appeared in many local stage productions in Thailand and Lebanon, such as Journey to Bethlehem and Matilda (via Backstage). She is 18, half-Lebanese and half-Thai, fluent in four languages, and proficient in martial arts. We learned that she was cast as the minor but fan-favorite role of Jin from the original series. Netflix declined to comment.

In the original series, during the anthology episode “Tales of Ba Sing Se,” Zuko meets an Earth Kingdom girl, Jin, who asks him on a date. It’s a small part of the episode, but the character became an instant fan favorite, with many wishing Zuko ended up with her instead of Mai. Other parts of the episode include Aang creating a zoo, Toph getting a girly makeover with Katara, and Iroh mourning the death of his son, Lew Ten.

Netflix added a version of Iroh honoring Lew Ten with his funeral scene in season 1, playing the Leaves From The Vine instrumental music in the background. Najjar revealed on Instagram that she traveled to Vancouver during production earlier this year. However, production has just ended in March and will pick back up in May for season 3.

Avatar: The Last Airbender will return to Netflix sometime in 2026
