Today, a report announced that actor Ulrich Thomsen has joined the cast of the Lanterns TV series on Max. Thomsen is best known for his role on The Blacklist and Counterpart. He will play the DC Comics supervillain Sinestro. Mark Strong originally played the role in the 2011 movie to much fan praise. In 2021, Tobias Menzies was courted for the role in a previous incarnation of the show.
Thomsen joins Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler as they co-star as John Stewart and Hal Jordan as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. After appearing in the Superman movie, Nathan Fillion is expected to appear in the series as Guy Gardner. Production begins later this year.
