Today, while promoting his latest film, Galaditor 2, Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington nonchalantly reveals he will have a part in Black Panther 3:

“I played Othello at 22, I’m now going to play it at 70. After that, I’m playing Hannibal. After that, I’ve been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther.”

Marvel Studios has not officially announced that Black Panther 3 is in the works, but it makes sense that, at minimum, director Ryan Coogler would write a script. It’s unknown if Washington will play a mentor or villain in the film, but the film will most likely follow young T’Challa and Shiri as she is the current Black Panther following the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
