It’s unknown if  Manganiello will be tapped to return to the character after he was expected to appear in The Batman film starring Ben Affleck before it was shelved. Many fans have fancasted Dave Bautista and, more accurately, Laz Alonso (The Boys) in the role of South American villain Bane (compared to Tom Hardy). It should be noted this could actually be another Suicide Squad film set in the new DC Universe.
