DC Studios ‘Wonder Woman 3’ Enters Development Hell; Past DC Actors Not Returning?

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Wonder Woman 3 is no longer moving forward at DC Studios in its current incarnation. Recently, director Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns submitted a treatment for the film to DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn. Unfortunately, the duo this week revealed to the director that the film doesn’t fit their vision of the DC Universe. The two took over DC Studios from Walter Hamada at the end of October but still report to Warner Brothers-Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

The recent news isn’t the first possible change that may happen to the current DC film slate. There have been rumors that Ben Affleck’s scenes in Aquaman 2 and Henry Cavill’s scenes in The Flash have been cut during recent test screenings. All this coming off the terrible returns of Black Adam in October that cost WB over $100 Million in losses (via Variety). Gal Gadot was also expected to return as the princess of the Amazons but posted this ominous tweet several days before the announcement. It’s possible (though not confirmed) that Gunn & Safran will reboot the entire DC Universe without any of the previous actors that have been seen on film. This would suck for Cavill, who announced his return as Superman in October.
