Today, a new report announced that screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski has been tapped to pen the upcoming Alien sequel. The film was recently revealed to be a sequel to Alien: Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, not the recent spin-off, Alien: Romulus. Guzikowski is best known for writing the critically acclaimed film Prisoners and teamed with Scott on HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves. Apparently, Scott is back not to direct, but to produce, though that could change. Michael Fassbender is expected to return as the android David, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. 20th Century Studios is also producing the project. The film was tentatively titled Alien: Awakening when it was first developed almost a decade ago.
