Today, a report announced that actress McKenna Grace is the first to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming Scooby-Doo live-action reboot series titled Scooby-Doo! Origins. Grace has appeared in several franchises when she was younger, including Captain Marvel, The Haunting of Hill House, and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. As well as most recently Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Scream 7, and this year’s The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. She is set to star as Daphne Blake in this origin story of Mystery Inc created by producer Greg Berlanti (Riverdale, The Flash), alongside showrunners Josh Appelbaum (Midnight Cowboy) & Scott Rosenberg (Cowboy Bebop). Ironically, Grace already voiced a young Daphne in the 2020 animated movie Scoob! and cosplayed as the character in 2024 for Halloween (below). Production begins in late April in Atlanta for the 8-episode first season (via Whats-on-Netflix).
