The past week gave fans a leaked first look at Spider-Man: Brand New Day on social media. During the footage leak, a new rumor surfaced that appears to connect the next Spider-Man film even more to the Marvel Studios street universe. The report announced that Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka) is expected to return as Claire Temple in the movie. Temple hasn’t appeared in any of the Marvel properties since the shows were on Netflix.
However, she was a connective tissue character among Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders on the streaming platform. The second rumor to emerge after this initial report was that Frank Castle (played by Jon Bernthal) will carry a battered & bruised Spider-Man to Claire for help, similar to the famous comic panel from Civil War (via Twitter). With all these easter eggs pointing Spider-Man to the Netflix shows, it really is about time he faces off against The Kingpin in a future film. Production on the movie ended a month ago and is currently in post-production.
