Today, a new rumor began circulating that director Matt Reeves was looking at actor Oscar Isaac for a role in his Batman sequel. The rumor came from Jeff Sneider during an appearance on The Hot Mic podcast. This wouldn’t be the first time that Oscar Isaac was linked to Matt Reeves’ Batman franchise. Back in 2018, when I worked at Omega Underground (via Geeks World Wide), I exclusively reported that Isaac met with WB about a potential role, but it was completely unknown for which character. This scoop has since been confirmed by Sneider on his podcast.

Some fans thought at the time it could have been for Bruce Wayne, but that role eventually went to Robert Pattinson in May 2019 (via Variety). Since then, many fans have fancast Isaac for the role of Harvey Dent in this new gothic Batman universe. Aaron Eckhart brilliantly played the role in 2008’s The Dark Knight, but was often overshadowed by Heath Ledger’s Joker. However, it should be noted that Isaac is much older than Pattinson, even though the characters are typically around the same age in the comics. This should still be treated as a rumor until Warner Bros. announces it.
The Batman 2 hits theaters on Oct 1st, 2027
