Today, a report announced that Lionsgate is courting Kieran Culkin and Jesse Plemons for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Neither actor has officially signed on to the prequel film as of yet. Hot off his Academy Award-winning role in A Real Pain, Culkin is considered for a young Caesar Flickerman. Stanley Tucci has previously played this role in the original films.
Plemons is being considered for the role of young Plutarch Heavensbee. Philip Seymour Hoffman previously played the role in the original films. The studio is already looking at Charlie Plummer and Ralph Fiennes as Haymitch and President Snow for the prequel. Production begins later this summer.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is slated to hit theaters on November 20th, 2026
