Today, a report announced that actress Summer H. Howell has landed the lead role of Carrie White in the upcoming TV series remake. She is best known for her role in Abducted by My Teacher and 2013’s Curse of Chucky. There was a rumor that Hereditary actress Milly Shapiro was in the running for the lead role, but she never signed on. In the same report, Samantha Sloyan was rumored to play Carrie White’s overprotective mother. The actress had previously worked with showrunner Mike Flanagan on multiple projects, like Midnight Mass and Hush. Her casting has also not been completed yet. Production begins this June in Vancouver.
