Today, a report announced that DC Studios has officially paused production on the upcoming Sgt. Rock live-action movie. The World War 2 hero was not on James Gunn’s original slate of films from DC Comics, but was put into early production late last year. Director Luca Guadagnino was developing the project and would star Colin Farrell after Daniel Craig passed on the role. The project would be relatively minimal, with only a $70 million budget, but the studio got cold feet that an auteur director like Guadagnino could handle a big action film. The studio may revisit the movie in late 2026.
