Today, Nintendo announced that their live-action movie The Legend of Zelda is slated to hit theaters in Spring 2027. A new report has revealed that the film is moving along very quickly after it’s initial announcement in late 2023. According to DanielRPK’s Patreon, casting is already underway for the main characters Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, Impa, and Zelda’s father. Casting should be completed by August, as they will undergo extensive training. Production is slated to begin this November and run through April 2026. This is also expected to be the first film in a trilogy from director Wes Ball (Maze Runner, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes). Sony Pictures and producer Avi Arad will produce the movie alongside Nintendo.
