Today, a report confirmed that Invincible actor Steven Yeun will voice an unknown character in the upcoming untitled Avatar Aang animated movie. We at Knight Edge Media reported on his voice casting last October when his name was listed alongside a copyright listing. We assumed he would return to voice Avatar Wan after having a guest voice spot in The Legend of Korra in 2014. However, Yeun may have taken over as Firelord Zuko from the original voice actor, Dante Basco.

Basco had long been attached to future projects since the inception of Avatar Studios in 2021, as the studio was always going to recast the entire Team Avatar, besides Basco. However, he was noticeably absent from last year’s CinemaCon announcement with the rest of the voice cast. He even said he “knows nothing” about what happened at Avatar Studios at Florida Supercon 2024 (via PopVerse), as something could have occurred between 2022 and now. With CinemaCon next week in Las Vegas, we are expected to get more information on the movie, as it has been at the yearly event the past 2 years. Nevertheless, Yeun does have an unknown voice role in the upcoming animated movie.

The untitled Avatar Aang movie is slated to hit theaters on January 30th, 2026
