Today, a report has been announced that Universal Pictures is in early development on three separate live-action Lego movies. The studio helped develop Oscar-nominated animated films The Lego Movie, The Lego Movie 2, The Lego Batman Movie, and The Lego Ninjago Movie during the 2010s. However, they have since given up on that franchise after it reached over $1 billion at the worldwide box office between them.

While unclear, these films are strictly live-action and not a hybrid like the original films. Jake Kasdan (Jumanji, Red On) will direct the film with a screenplay by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul. Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) will direct a film with a screenplay by Geoff Johns and herself. Finally, Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) will direct a film with a screenplay by Heather Anne Campbell (Rick & Morty, One Punch Man).

All 3 Lego Movies have no set release date
