Today, a report announced that Academy Award nominee Brendan Gleeson has joined the cast of Prime Video’s Spider-Noir. His character is currently unknown, but he is expected to be the series’ main villain. He joins Nicholas Cage as the title hero, who “tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.” Daniel Ritchman also revealed on his Patreon that a version of The Sandman is expected to appear in the show, but it’s unknown if that is who Gleeson is playing. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot are set as co-showrunners on the series from producers Chris Miller & Phil Lord. Production begins this September in LA.

Spider-Noir will stream exclusively on Prime Video
