‘Dune: Prophecy’ Prequel Series Adds Actresses Jessica Barden & Tabu To Ensemble Cast

After several false starts, Max’s upcoming Dune prequel series has begun casting major roles. The series was originally announced in 2019 under Dune: The Sisterhood but has since been renamed Dune: Prophecy. The logline for the series is:

 “Set within the expansive universe of ‘Dune,’ created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.”

The report states that actress Jessica Barden (End of the F—ing World) and Indian Actress Tabu have both joined the cast. Barden plays young Valya Harkonnen, while Tabu will play Sister Francesca. They join Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Johdi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, and Shalom Brune-Franklin. Alison Schapker will serve as showrunner and executive producer.
