Director Adam Wingard Exits ‘Godzilla and Kong’ Sequel

Today, a report has confirmed that director Adam Wingard will not be returning for the third film in the Godzilla and Kong trilogy. The director took over the Monsterverse films with Godzilla vs. Kong and returned for its sequel, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The director didn’t have enough time to make a third film as he prepared his other films, Onslaught and The Thundercats reboot. Legendary has left the door open for the director to return in the future if he chooses. Recently, screenwriter Dave Callaham was hired to pen the sequel.
