Screenwriter Beau Willimon Will Help Co-Write ‘Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi’

Today, a report has gone out that playwright and screenwriter Beau Willimon has boarded James Mangold’s upcoming film Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi. He will help co-write the upcoming film alongside Mangold. Willimon is best known for helping write Star Wars: Andor season 1 and co-creating the critically acclimated Netflix series House of Cards. The film was originally announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023 with Mangold and Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy. It is the first film not set during the Skywalker Saga and set 25,000 years into the past. It will follow the origins of the first Jedi and their connection to the Force. Game of Thrones’s creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were originally attached to a similar premise but ultimately exited their version in 2019. There is no set production date.
