Today, the classic 1984 film The Neverending Story will be getting a reboot film for modern audiences. The film was adapted from a novel by the same name written by Michael Ende. The series of children’s books is mainly compared to The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Iain Canning and Emile Sherman of the prestigious See-Saw Films, alongside Michael Ende Productions, will produce the upcoming film:

“The story is both timely and timeless, and really has an opportunity to be told in a fresh way. And part of the specialness of the book is that you can go back to it at different ages in your life and find different levels of meaning. So how wonderful that we have this opportunity to do a fresh perspective that will have new layers and meanings. We just believe that every generation deserves their own journey into Fantastica.”- Iain Canning

No writer or director has been attached to the project. However, the producers are now hearing pitches on the updated material version.

The Neverending Story has no set release date
