Earlier this week, Warner Brothers began hosting the first round of pitch meetings in LA for their upcoming Harry Potter reboot series on Max. The series was announced in early 2023 alongside other major Warner Brother IPs like Lord of the Rings and the DC Universe. No showrunner was announced at the time, but the series is expected to adapt one book per season over seven seasons. Writers Martha Hillier (The Last Kingdom), Kathleen Jordan (Teeange Bounty Hunters), Tom Moran (The Devil’s Hour), and Michael Lesslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) were all in attendance, among others. A second round of pitches will occur in the UK  over the next month. Author J.K Rowling will have minor decision-making duties on the series as she serves as an Executive Producer.
