Paramount Pictures is moving forward with another untitled Star Trek film set in the Kelvin timeline. The film is expected to be an origin story set decades before the 2009 reboot film from director JJ Abrams. This means it could be about a younger, Captain Christopher Pike (originally played by Bruce Greenwood). Currently, Anson Mount plays the character in a separate show streaming on Parampunt+ titled Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The new film will be directed by Toby Haynes (Andor), with a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith (Beetlejuice 2). The report also lists Star Trek 4 as still in development at the studio and is expected to be the final chapter in the Kelvin timeline. JJ Abrams will return to produce both films under his Bad Robot production banner.

Untitled Star Trek Origin Film has no set release date
