Isabela Merced & Young Mazino Join ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2

Today, Isabela Merced and Young Mazino have both joined the cast of The Last of Us season 2. They both join Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie. Isabela Merced will star as the character Dina from the original game. The character is described as “a free-wheeling spirit whose devotion to Ellie will be tested by the brutality of the world they inhabit.” Merced will star in this year’s Madame Web and has already been tapped to appear in Superman: Legacy as Hawkgirl.

Young Mazino has also been tapped to star as Jesse in the upcoming sequel series. Jesse is “a pillar of his community who puts everyone else’s needs before his own, sometimes at terrible cost.” Mazino is best known for starring in the Netflix movie Beef. Creator of the series, Craig Mazin, added, “Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him. We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show.” Production begins in March in Vancouver.
