Today, while on the Smartless Podcast, actor Adam Driver was asked about his future with Star Wars. He said, “They’re doing stuff, but not with me. I’m not doing it anymore.” The actor also recently revealed on The Rich Eisen Show when he signed onto Star Wars: The Force Awakens that there was a clear plan to have Kylo Ren delve deeper into the Dark Side, which ultimately convinced him to sign on.

However, Kylo Ren did a complete 180 in the last film, returning to the Light side as Ben Solo. And, to many fans’ dismay, he was shoehorned in to be a last-second love interest to Rey (played by Daisy Ridley) and then sacrificed himself for her. A new Star Wars film is expected to begin filming this April, focusing on an older Rey training a new group of Jedi students. It looks like Driver won’t have anything to do with the project, even returning as a Force ghost. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct the film from a screenplay by Damon Lindelof and Steven Knight.
