Today, Daniel Ritchman, over on his Patreon, announced that Universal Pictures is already looking to cast their live-action adaption of How To Train Your Dragon. According to the report, the studio is eyeing Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam! Fury of the Gods, IT), Auli’i Cravalho (Moana, Darby of the Dead), and Joel Edgerton (The Stranger, Warrior) as Hiccup, Astrid, and Stoick, leader of Berk.

Given the actors’ ages, this adaption must not follow the original animated films exactly, as Hiccup is only 15 in the first film. Universal is hosting its CinemaCon panel later this week in Las Vegas and may announce the full cast at that time. Production begins later this summer.

How To Train Your Dragon hits theaters on March 14th, 2025
