Today, Daniel Ritchman revealed on his Patreon that director James Wan is in talks to helm a Dead Space live-action movie for Warner Brothers. Wan is best known for directing mega-blockbusters like Aquaman and Furious 7, but he got his start in horror with Saw and The Conjuring. Fans have been asking for a Dead Space adaption ever since the original Xbox 360 game featured sci-fi horror survival in space. Hopefully, the film leans into isolation in space, much like Sandra Bullock is in Gravity.

Earlier this year, a remastered version of the game was released for Xbox Series X and PS5. Ironically, Wan actually directed the original Dead Space video game promo back on the 360. This could be one of the first partnerships between his production company, Atomic Monster, and Blumhouse. No writer is attached to the project just yet.
