Today, Deadline announced that actress Cailee Spaeny is circling the lead for a new Alien reboot. Like this summer’s Prey, the film will reboot the franchise for the Hulu streaming service. The film currently titled Alien: Romulus though that could change. Evil Dead reboot director Fede Alvarez has been tapped to direct the film by producer Scott Free. After hearing Alvarez’s pitch on the reboot, Free put into development a script for production to begin by February 2023. This film is a separate project from the Alien series developed by Noah Hawley (Legion). Director Ridley Scott will help produce both projects for the streaming service.
