Director Craig Zobel Will Helm DC Comics ‘The Penguin’ First Two Episodes

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that director Craig Zobel has boarded the upcoming Batman spin-off series The Penguin. He will direct the series’ first two episodes starting in January 2023. He is best known for directing Netflix’s series Mare of Easttown and The Hunt. The series will again star Colin Farrell as the overweight Gothan underworld crime boss. The series is expected to be between The Batman and The Batman sequel. Lauren LeFranc will showrun the series with director Matt Reeves producing for DC Comics and HBO Max.

The Penguin has no set release date but will debut on HBO Max
